The staggering Al-Hajar mountains tower over Ghala's fairways
The 18-hole course at Ghala is set snugly into a valley, surrounded by the iconic Al-Hajar mountains which provide a stunning backdrop for your round. The narrow fairways leading into the mountains provide a challenge for all levels of player. Top off your round with a drink or a bite to eat in our members-only clubhouse. With an open porch looking out on to the course, it’s a relaxing place to kick-back with a cold drink and good company.
The course is a 72 par, totaling 6527 yards off the men’s tees and 5430 yards off the ladies tees.
Recent landscaping work has added more bunkers, plenty of trees and greenery and some wider fairways. Be sure to stop and admire the wildlife, particularly the bird life at Ghala. Some resident herons often spend their day cooling down in our 18th hole pond!
Our driving range is newly grassed and landscaped, providing some challenging targets for you. With shading from the sun and surrounding floodlights, you can practice your drives any time of the day.
Our putting green is situated right next to the driving range, on your way to the course so you can get that final practice in before you Tee-off.
Origins of the Course
Playing golf at Ghala means experiencing a little bit of history in Oman. From name changes to location changes to course changes, we've come a long way since 1971. And although we say 'the best is yet to come,' we look back with fond, happy memories.
